How credits work, what each action costs, and how to buy more.
What credits are
Credits are Caseworth's usage currency. Every account starts with 10,000 free credits on signup, no credit card required. Credits don't expire and roll over indefinitely — there's no monthly reset to worry about.
Buying more credits
When you run low, you can buy more directly from your dashboard or from a top-up prompt:
- $9.99 for 25,000 credits
- $29.99 for 100,000 credits
Buying a credit pack tops up your balance — it doesn't change or reset any credits you already have.
What things cost
Costs reflect how much analysis work each action does:
- Ask Lex question (or a follow-up in any thread): 500 credits
- Analyze case / full Lexstimate report: 8,000 credits (initial run only — follow-ups in the same thread are billed as Ask Lex, at 500)
- Demand letter: 1,000 credits (premium — requires having purchased a credit pack at least once)
- Build a case / Case Builder session: 10,000 credits, charged once per case, not per message
- Legal Opinion Reader: 1,000 credits per read (sign-in required)
- Statute of Limitations checker, Injury code scanner, Police report decoder, Evidence checker, TCPA violation check: free
Exporting a report to PDF also uses credits — see "Reading and exporting your report."
Case Builder is billed once, not per message
Unlike Ask Lex or Analyze case, a Case Builder session is charged a single 10,000-credit fee for the whole guided interview — answering more questions doesn't add up additional charges. And once your case file exists, regenerating it later with "Update report" (after you add more facts) is free.
The credit badge
Your current balance is always visible in a credit badge in the app header. Check it before starting an action that costs more than your remaining balance to avoid an interruption mid-conversation.
Running low
If an action would cost more credits than you have, Caseworth stops you before charging anything and shows a prompt to top up. You won't be charged a partial amount or lose your place in a conversation — top up and continue where you left off.
