When you describe a situation, Caseworth resolves it to a jurisdiction (state, and sometimes county or city) and pulls the statutes that generally govern matters like yours, along with comparable matters from that same jurisdiction. This is why being specific about where something happened matters — the law genuinely differs state to state.

Deadlines and case law

Filing deadlines — statutes of limitations — come from a curated, per-jurisdiction reference table built on real statutory citations, not a guess. Relevant case law is retrieved through a semantic search over public, published court opinions, so the cases referenced in your report are real, findable opinions rather than invented examples.

How the value range is built

The value range in a Lexstimate report or Case Builder packet comes from comparable matters in the knowledge graph — situations with similar facts, injuries, and jurisdiction. It is an educational reference range, not a prediction and not a promise. The actual value of your matter depends on facts the graph doesn't have — the strength of your evidence, how a court or insurer weighs your specific circumstances, and judgment calls only a licensed attorney can make after reviewing your full situation.

The validity review, and what "Reviewed" means

Before a report or packet reaches you, it passes a validity review that checks its citations and jurisdiction for internal consistency — for example, making sure the statutes cited actually match the resolved jurisdiction. That check is what the "Reviewed" badge on your report reflects.
